Frequently asked questions
Q. I can not attend on day x or y. Is it required to participate every day of the course, even if I do not need the full amount of credit points?
A. We will not force you to attend the course or to be there every minute.
With regard to the other students and the speakers we would like you to keep in mind that the number of places is limited,
and therefore you should not reserve a seat without coming.
We will also be not happy to later answer questions on topics that have been covered while you were absent.
Of course you can not attend the scanner sessions when you missed the talk about MRI safety.
ECTS credit points will be assigned one point for every 25-30 hours of workload, with no fractional points. Decisions about your workload will be based on attendance lists, on your engagement in discussions during the course, and on your report at the end of the second week. There is a maximum of three points that can be earned during this course.
In the second week of the course you will work on a project in your own pace. A lecturer will be there to answer questions students may have. In this week attendance is not mandatory, however (1) due to data privacy reasons the data must be analysed on the GSN laptops and (2) the GSN laptops must not leave the Biocenter and (3) your final report for your grade is due at 18:00 on Friday, 26.01.2018, but the computers must be given back at 13:00.
Q. I am not registered, because I do not have 2 weeks of time to spare. Can I attend some of the talks?
A. Everybody is wellcome to attend the talks and participate in discussion. In the talks, seats are (almost) unlimited.
In the practical sessions on the scanners and in the CIP room,
places are limited and can only be granted to registered participants.
Q. I am registered, but do not have 2 weeks of time to spare. Can I attend some of the talks?
